In 1962, the property was acquired and rebranded as the Eldorado Casino, marking the beginning of a new chapter that would define the venue for decades. The name “Eldorado,” evoking the legendary city of gold, aligned with the aspirational branding common in Nevada gaming, while also giving the property a distinctive identity in Henderson’s modest but competitive casino market. Unlike the massive resorts of the Las Vegas Strip, the Eldorado Casino developed as a locals-oriented gaming hall, catering primarily to Henderson residents rather than tourists. Its location on Water Street placed it at the heart of the city’s early commercial activity, making it a natural gathering place for workers, families, and longtime locals. Inside, the Eldorado offered a traditional casino experience scaled to its community-focused setting. Today the property is home to the Pass Casino.
