Venue History

Stripburger was a casual open-air gourmet burger venue located at the Fashion Show Mall at 3200 South Las Vegas Boulevard, directly across from Wynn Las Vegas. Opened in the summer of 2007 by Lettuce Entertain You Restaurants, Stripburger occupied a highly-visible corner at Las Vegas Boulevard and Spring Mountain Road and quickly became known for its burgers, shakes, cocktails, and one of the Strip’s best locations for people-watching. Unlike the enclosed restaurants inside neighboring resorts, Stripburger was built almost entirely around outdoor dining. Its elevated patio, circular bar, canopies, misters, and heaters allowed guests to sit just feet from the activity of Las Vegas Boulevard throughout much of the year. The design gave the restaurant the feeling of a roadside burger stand, with bold signage and a relaxed atmosphere that stood in sharp contrast to the formal dining rooms and elaborate casino restaurants nearby. Gourmet burgers were the centerpiece of the menu. Favorites included bacon-and-cheddar, mushroom-and-cheddar, blue cheese, and whiskey barbecue burgers, the latter topped with cheddar, crispy onion strings, and barbecue sauce flavored with Jack Daniel’s. The menu also featured fries, onion rings, salads, chicken sandwiches, and milkshakes. In later years, the concept was marketed as Stripburger & Chicken, with buttermilk-fried jumbo chicken tenders becoming a popular specialty. Stripburger also developed a reputation for value-oriented happy hours, offering mini burgers, hand-cut fries, beer, cocktails, and boozy milkshakes at prices that were increasingly uncommon on Las Vegas Boulevard. Its patio became a convenient stop for Fashion Show shoppers, tourists walking the Strip, locals, and visitors looking for a casual meal without entering a casino. The restaurant was operated by Lettuce Entertain You, the company behind several prominent Las Vegas restaurants. Its neighboring sister restaurant, Café Ba-Ba-Reeba!, was converted into El Segundo Sol, a Mexican restaurant, in 2010. After nearly 16 years, Stripburger served its final customers on April 2, 2023. Its space was subsequently incorporated into an expansion and renovation of El Segundo Sol. Today, Stripburger is remembered as an uncomplicated Strip favorite whose burgers, shakes, open-air bar, and unbeatable sidewalk views made it a distinctive fixture of the Fashion Show corner for more than a decade.
