Description

The Golden Slot Club, also known as Golden Slot Casino, was a small casino that operated in downtown Las Vegas from 1955 to 1958. Its original location was 22 E. Fremont Street, where it became known for its decorative casino facade featuring a large, animated slot machine. The Golden Slot Club was a prime example of the thematic architecture for which vintage Las Vegas was known. Its distinctive street-facing sign made it an eye-catching landmark on Fremont Street, also known as “Glitter Gulch”. The club featured both table games like 21 and craps, along with slot machines. After facing legal issues and financial setbacks, the club was purchased at a tax sale in 1956 by Cecil Lynch. He was later approved for a gambling license and in 1958, the location was renamed Cecil Lynch’s Fortune Club. The iconic slot machine sign was later retooled to reflect the new name. The decorative facade was ultimately removed in 1966. The property later became the site of the Glitter Gulch casino and the famous “Vegas Vickie” sign. Today, the property is home to Circa Resort & Casino.
