Description

The Greek Isles Hotel & Casino opened its doors in 2001 at 305 Convention Center Drive, on land with a striking history of reincarnation. Formerly known for iterations like the Debbie Reynolds Hollywood Hotel, the property emerged anew under a Greek motif—complete with statues, themed decor, and replicas of Greek architecture—to bring a distinctively Mediterranean flair to the off-Strip corridor. The hotel featured a 14-story tower, offering roughly 200–202 rooms, a modest-sized casino (about 7,000 sq ft), and live entertainment—including a Rat Pack tribute and musicals celebrating legends like Harold Arlen. It catered to convention-goers, locals, and Beltway travelers with its affordable charm and themed experience. In 2009, the Greek Isles was rebranded as the Clarion Hotel & Casino, embracing broader national branding while retaining its gaming operations until 2014.On February 10, 2015, the Clarion was imploded, ending its lifecycle. The land is now owned by Lorenzo Doumani, who announced plans for a high-rise non-gaming hotel named Majestic Las Vegas, with groundbreaking taking place in 2024 and a planned opening in 2027.
